Judge Victor Treviño III

Judge Victor Treviño III has proudly served as the Harris County Justice of the Peace for Precinct 6, Place 1 since January 1, 2021. With a long family history in Precinct 6, Judge Treviño brings to the “People’s Court” a deep understanding of the community’s history, culture, and the needs of the residents he serves. He is committed to administering a court grounded in fairness, integrity, respect, and accessibility.

Public service in Precinct 6 has long been a part of Judge Treviño’s family. His mother, Silvia Treviño, currently serves as Harris County Constable for Precinct 6, following his father, Victor Treviño Jr., who previously served the community as Precinct 6 Constable before retiring. Judge Treviño’s fiancée, State Representative Ana Hernandez, represents House District 143 in the Texas House of Representatives. Together, Judge Treviño and Ana are proud parents to their son, Gregory. These family ties and a shared commitment to public service are part of Judge Treviño’s longstanding connection to the communities of Precinct 6.

Born and raised in the Northside and East End neighborhoods of Precinct 6, Judge Treviño is a proud product of Houston ISD schools and a graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School. He continued his education close to home at the University of Houston, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Before taking the bench, Judge Treviño spent 13 years serving young people as an educator at his alma mater, Stephen F. Austin High School. Throughout his teaching career, he advocated for educational excellence and for his fellow educators, serving eight years as an HFT Union Steward and to the Houston ISD District Advisory Committee. His years in education continue to shape his commitment to empowering young people, strengthening community engagement, and helping the public better understand the judicial system.

Since taking office, Judge Treviño has worked to increase accessibility to the court, modernize court operations, improve efficiency, and expand community outreach. During a period of increased caseloads, the court has remained focused on the timely disposition of cases while continuing to provide residents with accessible and responsive court services.

Judge Treviño believes that public service extends beyond the courtroom. He remains actively engaged throughout Precinct 6, regularly visiting senior groups, civic clubs, schools, neighborhood organizations, and community events. Each year, Judge Treviño joins Constable Silvia Treviño and State Representative Ana Hernandez in community initiatives benefiting Precinct 6 families, including back-to-school backpack distributions, Thanksgiving turkey giveaways, Halloween events, and Christmas celebrations that provide toys to local children. Through these efforts, he remains connected to the residents and neighborhoods the court serves.

In addition to serving the residents of Precinct 6, Place 1, Judge Treviño has the honor of serving as Presiding Judge for Harris County’s 16 Justice of the Peace courts. In this role, he works alongside his fellow Justices of the Peace to support the effective administration of justice throughout Harris County.

Judge Treviño is also a member of the Justices of the Peace and Constables Association of Texas (JPCA) and the Texas Association of Counties, organizations that provide professional resources, education, and support to Texas county officials.

As Justice of the Peace for Precinct 6, Place 1, Judge Treviño leads the court’s daily operations and remains dedicated to providing efficient, transparent, and accessible justice while ensuring that every person who enters the courtroom is treated with fairness, dignity, and respect.
